Uhm... if I don't stim, then I'm probably asleep.

Either that or concentrating fiercely on staying still. I just can't keep that up for long; I forget and start stimming again.

I become aware of my heart beating and my lungs breathing. I start trying to consciously regulate both. This can't possibly end well, so the only solution is to start stimming again.

I get antsy and agitated, it just keeps growing and growing until I release it somehow.

I get some sort of mild shiver up the back of my head and neck every few seconds. I have to consciously 'suppress' the shiver, as it were (usually by clenching my eyes).

My body shake like I have Parkinson's disease. This only happens when I am sitting and I don't want to embarrass myself so I sit on my hands and my body shakes instead. Plus my body gets stiff.

If I can't pace, I get tired and my head gets heavy and I start to feel sleepy I close my eyes. This only happens when I cannot occupy my mind and I have nothing to do. This happened a lot in school. I wasn't allowed music or GameBoy so what did I do, I slept. Then the teachers yell at me to stay awake and then tell me if I can't stay awake then how am I going to have a job. Uh jobs keep you occupied, you don't just sit there and do nothing because you be working. Big difference.

I become more and more irritated until I NEED to. I can't hold back my stims for more than a couple of minutes. Glad they are quite small ones, otherwise everybody would look at me weird in public.

I become nervous and jerky. I also have been know to get snippy with people when I am kept from pacing or tapping my feet.

I can't totally suppress stimming. I can change it into more socially acceptable forms like bouncing legs.
