i have no faith that human nature can support the continued existence of humanity in any civilized form, for many more decades hence.

I'll be suprised if things don't really go downhill in my lifetime......I mean the world can only go so long without a catastrophe, a huge war or something that kills a lot of people and causes civilized behavior to be thrown out the window.

Civilized behavior is the behavior of rabble rousing politicos and wooden nutmeg merchants and tavern brawlers and dark alley thugs.

That is the nature of cities.

Insert Ghandi quote about western civilisation.

P.S. That's an interesting song.

You need law-abiding civilians to have a holocaust. Anarchists never built any concentration camps.

What makes you think I consider law-abiding civilians to be civilized? they are one of the main reasons no human civilization can last.

In the future we can look forward to less. Which is not all that bad considering many of us have much more than we really need.

i reckon the mosquitos & jellyfish will be happy.

what a terrible song. i love it.

actually, things will be quite interesting once the armaments run out. it's been awhile since sheer intelligence was really a survival factor.

personally i would not ever wish for the amount of human suffering this will entail, but since we would NOT listen to reason, it's going to be a good thing for the planet when our Big Machine goes smash.

will human survive in some form? probably. will they rebuild with similar artifacts? i doubt it. will they forgive us?

no.

I'm just saying that conservatives are just as prone to "the sky is falling" behavior as liberals.
