When Timbaland and Ginuwine came along with Ginuwine's debut album 'The Bachelor', that was a sound unheard of before. And it helped shoot Tim to fame so he could do a whole lot of other things in the next couple of years, cementing his reputation. The style established on 'The Bachelor' was imitated by many. I think it was defining for the form urban contemporary music adopted for at least the next 7 years.
