I have been pondering the same thought for while and would like to share it. How would you react to the situation in which a method of eliminating autism is developed. In this particular scenario, you would be forced to be cured, or killed. Perhaps we would no longer be recipients of aid due to the existence of an autism-destroyer. What would you do? Would become obsequious, and hide in fear, or would you fight for autism?

How would an autistic person be "forced to be cured"?

They, however impractically it may be, would be sought after by those who support the "cure". Those people would then administer the "cure". This would be government supported.

I can't see this ever happening, unless it's in some socialist dictatorship or something.

Well, most countries in world were dictatorships during the most part of their recent history...

And how would we fight an enemy that has access to extensive resources, an army, high-tech weaponry, satellite-based tracking systems, and God-only-knows-what-else the federal government likes to hide in its private little nooks and crannies all over the US?

Ideally you would aim for subterfuge and utilize skilled hackers to crack government databases, but in terms of pure martial prowess, autistics would be laughably out-matched; in short, we'd all be killed.

Hiding might work if you're very high functioning, but wouldn't do you much good if you're on the opposite end of the Spectrum, so that's out. What makes you so sure the government wants us all dead, anyway? I find myself intrigued.

This is a hypothetical situation. In the latter scenario, it is broadcasted through every form of media that all autistics are to be... eliminated. How would we fight was something I was thinking of. We have to figure it out together.

I have issues imaging scenarios that are so unlikely to occur. It makes no sense to me. Theoretical constructs are incredibly interesting in general, but ones involving emotions with them is so incredibly difficult to even imagine. How do I know how I'd react, I've never had anything similar and likely never will, as my response would be emotional rather than factual, how can I tell you unless its through experience?

This now closed. It was meant to be a thought experiment. To tell the truth, I don`t know what I would do.

That's unlikely to happen today.
A genocide occurred for those with mental illness before world war II under Nazi's dictatorship. This is history. Even after that, it occurred in Europe, madhouses where places where a genocide occurred, even if people weren't murdered. There's something worse than being murdered and that situation was.
Autistic who couldn't cope with NT's world were put in that places toghether with others with something "wrong" in their brain. A major depression was enough to end up in a madhouse.
My granduncle died in a madhouse and my family didn't know how. They only noticed many bruises on his body. He was likely schizophrenic.
That said, I think that no one among scientist that deal with autism today is smart enuogh to develop a method to eliminate autistics :)
Whith all my respect...
We have to fight instead because what happened in XX century has not to happen anymore.
