There's no particular correlation between being an "alpha" and being a "jerk," even among non-human primates. Some species of monkey are more aggressive than others, but that's about it. In regards to our closest relatives, some male chimpanzees are more aggressive than others; however, being the biggest, most aggressive male is no guarantee of success. And, yes, even "low-ranking" males find ways of getting sex, and females have been observed to have "partner preferences," and not just with the "alpha male." With bonobos, it doesn't matter because females are the dominant ones and tend to be huge sluts as a means of preventing males from killing the infants. Neither species is "closer" genetically to humans than the other.

Ultimately, it doesn't matter. Human beings have "loose" genetic programming and display a wide variety of mating behaviors and preferences. There is no hard-wired genetic template that dictates a narrow range of preferences that all humans are compelled to be attracted to. People can cite all of the self-reporting surveys and studies they want, but, in terms of evolution, the ONLY choices that matter are the ones that actually produce offspring, and I don't see all, or even most, of the children being born to the richest men and "sexiest" women.

"Natural selection" weeds out those who are not adapted to their environment. Adaptability is best achieved through genetic diversity. Humans are one of the most adaptable species on the planet. Draw your own conclusions.

What, you're balking at the natural progression between starting out with Alphas who'll, in theory, would potentially help her make great, successful Alpha children and moving onto the Betas who'll, in theory, make a great provider for those children and/or the significant other?

i was just reminded of this, its the last boom i saw while in america and let me know what is wrong with me. I took a picture for posterity and forgot about it til now.

Y'know I looked through all the emoticons, and I looked at some facepalm images on google....and you know what? There's just no image that could sufficiently describe how dumb this post is. I am going to print this post out and frame it as proof that humanity is doomed. Centuries from now, an alien species will find it, and they will be able to better understand what happened to us.

Why the hell would I want to date a woman that only wants to go out with me because "she has had enough jerks in her life" when I could be going out with a real woman who wouldn't do that in the first place, seems very idiotic and even though they have learnt from their so called "mistakes" of being with a stereotypical jerk, it doesn't go away from the fact that they are just as bad as they are and have no initial thoughts of their own.

At the end of the day, I have no sympathy for these women as they chose to follow the crowd and be told what to do rather then be their own person.
