I think the Evangelical distrust of Mormons has been understated,
as has their ham-fisted love of tokenism first Mike Steele and now Cain.
I give him even Odds to being the Republican Candidate.
Only just so that the racists can claim they have a "black friend".

At least that's what my husband told the elder Germans in his family with strong antisemitic views when he married a half-Jew.

But where's the fun in that? The real giggles come from saying racist sounding stuff around sensitive white people, and then engineering a meeting with the spouse in their presence. Maybe it's just me, but tweaking white guilt is endlessly amusing, especially if you live in a place like Seattle with pretensions of tolerance it doesn't quite live up to.
