Depends exactly what you mean. If by dancing you mean dance well, yeah, I guess it would be easier to do in those situations. If you just mean dancing in general, I can do it any time, anywhere, although my horrible random gyrating I like to call dancing looks more like I'm having an epileptic fit rather than busting out any sort of smooth moves.

I've never "got" dance, despite serious attempts in the past. Practice didn't improve much, never mind make perfect. I'm still not sure what I'm trying to achieve, or what the positive feedback's supposed to be.

True story:

An expert once commented on my attempts:
"You dance like a Chieftain tank with one track missing."

An Army heavy engineering expert, not a dance expert.

I dont know what others thought of my dancing but I used to love dancing....90% of the time I was drunk and really miss dancing since i quit drinking....I would have to close my eyes(just like sex...lol)
and then I could feel the music in different part of my body...one instrument in my hands,my feet,my booty.....I could get lost in time doing it.....I miss dancing...cant do it at all any more...lost my grove.

It might sound a bit hilly billy hickish but I did do line dancing albeit only for the excercise. I was not all that great at it, but l enjoyed the mechanical routine of it and the fact you do it alone. Which are real plusses for autistics IMHO

I don't know how, but I can oddly enough dance... I just wriggle my hips and they think I'm dancing.

But then again, dancing here is just grinding people or shaking your butts for people.

My style of dancing would probably be better suited to .... African belly dancing.

Two things that worked for me (altho I still won't dance... just feels unnatural to me) were playing bass ( I may not dance but I can groove) and some advice a friend gave me, "dancing is just making love with your clothes on and not so messy... and standing up... in a room with a bunch of other people. But forget about them, they're a**holes."
In a wierd way it helped.

your mileage may vary

I hate dancing. People always say to feel the music but I feel it with my mind, not my body.
Sometimes I think I might just be self-conscious or whatever but I hate doing it at home too. So.

The only sort of dancing I would ever do is on the DDR-machine :)
I hate dancing, but I seem to absolutely love that game! Hopefully it will provide some rhythm, if ever the day should come when I want to dance for real ...

Well, considering that I'm the only founding member of the CU Renaissance Guild who still can't get the most basic dances down... dancing really isn't my forte.

I'm not THAT clumsy. But I'm solidly below average.

I do like to just "move to the music" when I'm in my room alone; used to do it for exercise, during the winter when I couldn't bike. I never let anybody watch me because I know I'm pretty bad, though I've gotten better than I used to be.

I don't think I'd have the self-confidence to dance improvised-type dances in public; and the type of thing they do in the Ren Guild, I'd need about five times more practice than my more coordinated friends. I think I could enjoy it, though, if I had the time to learn; you don't have to be a natural at something to enjoy it.
