Considering I know several people in my neighborhood that own firearms and probably have plenty of ammo, I'm not sure I'd actually have that much to worry about.

Might have to learn some archery too, but I guess that's an advantage of living where people practice their 2nd Amendment rights.

Archery? that won't help against zombies. Need to remove or crush the head.

duh

The head? ha! Depending if the zombie is animated by magic or a biological virus/bacteria or some other organism, cutting his head likely won't do jack y'know. ^.- And yes, there's a reason why archery does very little vs zombies in roleplaying games, or undead in general. Cleaving stuff in two (or more, if you sliced horizontally) usually works kind of better. Also, fire.

Hmmm .... I never considered that, but I think you are right. Now I am going to go practice cleaving fire in two.

 I kind of meant that burning the zombie with fire or acid would work, but suit yourself.

Yeah, it's not working. the flame keeps rejoining itself everytime I try to cleave it. Man, I hope the Zombies don't do that, too.

Ok, now I will try suiting myself up with acid or fire instead.

You could also "burn the bridge".

Now that's something I seem to be good at. I will try that instead of the acid suit idea. I'm going to cut off all friendships with potential zombies. Shame them into cleaving their darn selves in half.

Thx!

Cleaving them in half sounds fun. I need Pyramid Head's giant butcher knife!

"they have dibs on me in the event of any apocalyptic event".

I get that literally all the time. I also happen to live on an island with a low population and only one bridge, which is located near my house if I had to drop it. We don't talk about how to do that sort of thing on open forums.

I'd do my best to survive, but what the heck? I don't really want to live in a world in which algorithms cannot be executed anymore in a computer screen, so I would not really try very hard unless there was a chance I was the only one left with that knowledge, then I would try to write something about the basics in case someone finds the book later.

I know that the inferior types yearn for a day in which their outdated skills are useful again and thus the passion for Zombie fiction and, in many occasions for end of the world prophecies. I am in the opposite side of the coin, so...

I disagree with the movie versions of Zombies. My idea of a realistic zombie scenario would involve Zombies that are smart enough to use guns (I mean, really, how much IQ is needed to be part of the military?) . Also animal zombies (Try running away of a zombie dog, your guns won't help). And the disease will be airbone.

Thus:

Won't work.

(Not to mention that the gun freaks in your neighborhood would find you to be a load and expel you out of the place.)

That actually depends on whether he can shoot and whether he's trustworthy. My personal arsenal is in the double digits and includes the ammo to run them, which is far more than even my wife and I could really use. It would make far more sense to recruit others with the right skillset, since if nothing else we'd still have to sleep.

Oh not that much to join up. To stay alive, however, is a different story...

Question: zombies presumably feed on living humans, which is their whole impetus to attack. And according to long-standing zombie lore, you turn into a zombie if you get bitten. So if you get attacked and overwhelmed, what mechanism decides whether you become food or a zombie? You can't really be both.

Depends on how fast the zombies eat you.

If you get bitten but escape the fight, you will become a zombie. If you do not escape the fight, the zombies will eat you before you become a zombie.

For some reason, zombies aren't cannibalistic, so once you become a zombie, they can't eat you.
