I have never found an answer to this one. Most of the people who ask me why I'm quiet don't really wait to hear an answer anyway, they just keep talking. How am I supposed to get a word in edgewise?

I just act confused, because of course I am confused with why somebody would act such a question. Usually they're the type of people who get distracted easily, and if I wait a few seconds they'll just leave me alone because they moved on to a different person/question.

Q. why are you so quiet?

A. shrug shoulders,
i like being quiet
i have nothing to say
i just am
ive always been quiet
i dont know

or if the person is an a-hole and is baiting me then:
my mother told me if i have nothing nice to say i should say nothing at all.
why waste smart words on stupid people?
