the effects of entropy? I mean let me give you an example here.

Say nature starts a fire somewhere, happens all the time right? By snuffing that fire out by an act of will on our part, does that in effect stave off the effects of entropy? Or is more energy used to put out the fire in the first place?

I started thinking about this the other day.

The Earth isn't an isolated system, the Universe is. Entropy in the Universe cannot decrease.

This is absolute proof that rhinos are conscious and know thermodynamics better than most humans.

Is it also possible that people can increase the rate of entropy by our actions?

Are you asking whether it's theoretically possible for humans to significantly increase the rate at which entropy accumulates in the Universe?

Indeed.

Suggestion: Learn what 2-LOT (second law of thermodynamics) says.

But are you taking into account time is relative?

Someone starts a campfire, 5 minutes later I snuff it out. Where does the balance of entropy rest?

Bismillah

I am prevented from learning to decipher what you say.
I can understand some.
If i think much, then I would produce heat (before I actually thought that I will replace 1Xphysical training with 1000Xspiritual and mental training as my God requested, and with this activity I would not get physicall fat, on the contrary ... slim).
I have thought so much that I don't want to think anymore, I don't need to.
Reaching enlightenment is not about the presence of heat/activity/intelligence/training/etc ... It is about abolishing your desires. Buddhism says (and I have broken down a Buddhist forum before) that when the negativity disappears, then the positivity appears.

The total amount of entropy in the universe has increased. The amount of Gibbs Free Energy has decreased.

Would it not increase more rapidly if I did nothing?

Possibility: Extremely Remote

There is ample evidence that conscious thought can lead to physical activity that can temporarily reverse entropy on a small scale - such as when humans use industrial processes to convert disordered silica to ordered semiconductor material - but there is currently no reliable evidence to support the claim that consciousness can directly affect entropy in any way.

Has anyone even asked the question?

Rate of entropy is not constant is what I'm proposing.
