I find it hard to focus onthings because my mindalways seems to be working overtime and it's an almost constant flow of ideas that won't seem to subside. It feels like my head is going to explode sometimes. Does anyone else feel similar?

Scenarios? Is that when you image yourself in a certain situation?

I suffered during my teen years from what I called thought storms, where my head was full of ideas, images and anything else that came to mind. I spent many hours lying down on my bed trying desperately to stop the 'noise'. Once I was in my twenties it subsided. I'm not sure if it was because that would happen anyway or because I'd finally learnt how to clear my mind of this chaos.

Even now I have episodes where I'll be deep in thought and other stuff pops up, seemingly from nowhere, to contest with the current topic for thought-time. They tend not to happen too often, so maybe it's a case of weather the storm while learning to control it?

Wow. I always thought that was something everybody did.

I dunno, I guess that's such a big part of what my brain does all day, I'm having trouble imagining people not doing that. I mean, what do they do with all that mental "free time?"

Seriously, most people don't do this?

ROFL - thats why i never clicked on to it for so many years. i always thought it was normal. i suppose to do it occasionally is normal but not when it fills your head at every opportunity, all day every day.

This is something I wonder often. There are so many things to ponder, so many ideas to be made, when I talk to other people about something I've thought of in-depth for a long time and they go, "Wow, I never even thought about that" it's hard to keep a relaxed expression. I want to ask people, "What do 'normal' people think of?" but I don't want them to take it the wrong way and start going, "Oh, honey, you're normal! Blah blah blah blah..." That doesn't answer my question! Also, no, I'm not! If you spent just one day in my head you'd feel so overloaded you'd crack. At least then you'd understand how I can have a drastic mood swing in under ten minutes- because I've already traveled down a thought chain that took me so far from our original topic that if I simply say what's on my mind now you'd go, "That's so random!" No, it's not random at all. I just think that fast...

Yes, I have noticed this when studing for something, and the thoughts are racing. I have a habbit of analizing things and the thought of ideas just dont go away until I do something like getting those ideas down on paper.

I'm a bit of a software fanatic and I can recall an instance where I had a problem with the coding, my mind was racing to the point that I actually drempt the soloution, and which solved the problem.
