Another thing that I noticed is that, when someone IMs me or e-mails me, I never really know when to stop replying. Some people who communicate with me online a lot quickly say goodbye and immediately log off so they don't have to spend twenty minutes parting ways. It's kind of an entertaining defense mechanism. On the other hand, when I try to break it off on my end first, I tend to offend the other person because I won't say goodbye properly. I can't win.

Yes, I also have long goodbyes. It's a hard habit to kick. I find the solution is just to do what they do, disconnect instead of waiting for a response :P
