I'm a quarter century old. My biggest problem is my social awkwardness; which has been a MAJOR impediment in my life (related to my Aspies), and why I have not had a GF.

Onward....
I ask a girl on a date, no matter where she lives, and she sees me like I am either Charlie Sheen, Casey Anthony, Jerry Sandusky, or all three (which I am neither of). Also not helping things is the impression that girls aren't friend-zoning me, they are putting bounties on my head. (Not trying to be funny, it's my personal convictions speaking.)

What I'd like:
To have a GF that understands me, nothing more. There's a few other things, but that's another story for another post.

Simply put, I am not having much luck with girls because of the social awkwardness and the aforementioned being-compared-to-maniacs. I feel sad, and I fear that time is running out for me. I could use help in this.

I feel you man. I only had gf in my life. and I regret losing her but that a never issues. Yeah women can be tough sometimes. I don't know Im not a love expert myself. try finding a women who has common interest. Maybe go after older ladies like 40. Me personaly I get along with older women.

How do you come off as not being desperate?

I think the best way to do this is to first accept that you want someone who makes you happy, and it's better to be alone than to settle for someone who doesn't.

Then just work with that attitude.

That's the same with me. I don't want to come off as desperate, but I don't want to end my senior year in HS without a girlfriend.

Why is it that I have that irrational fear that I mentioned? Maybe it could have to do with my social skills being poor....

yeah, it's like as if they want the man to be an overall better person quality-wise, life-wise than they are

yeah, if its to ensure the survival of the offspring, then yeah i don't blame women at all for that, makes sense, but often times these women are not intentionally trying to get pregnant, have kids

yeah, biology kinda screwed us, but i do believe, that the way it works in just about all organisms, animals, the female picks, chooses the best, elite male, it's like, women can be beta but men have to be alpha
