What does a kiss mean to you?

To me... well, a kiss is generally something I share only with the person I care about the most... ever since November of last year that person has been Kyuuchan. Typically there's four kinds that have different meanings

Short, quick peck - "Hey, how are you?" or "Gotta bounce, bye!"
Longer, with a passionate embrace - "Words cannot describe how much I love you, but maybe this can."
Above, but with tongue - "We're alone now, lets stop and enjoy each other's company. The world can wait."
Above, but not on lips (ear, neck, collar, etc.) - "Cancel our plans to go out. You and I are gonna have some fun."

Unfortunately haven't gotten much of #3 with Kyuuchan yet, and nothing of #4. I don't blame her, when she does it will be her first time, but hoping that changes in the near future.

The most recent kiss I had felt natural for both me and her. So there is some attraction between the both of us and some chemistry going on.

other times a kiss meant:
I am drunk and you are cute.
was part of the act (was in a few plays in high school for drama class)

It depends I guess. To me it either means the guy might like me, thinks I'm hot, or just has too many raging hormones. I'm not quite sure what my last kiss was. Probably a combination of the three.

usually because doing so will give them some amount of emotional connection, and felt as affection.

'Zactly. I've gotten better about doing that sort of thing, in relationships- I have no real aversion to it, just find it a bit weird. But it's so easy, and gives the other person so much joy and happiness, I think it's well worth it.

Haha this thread is awesome. Answers ranging from "two people having chemistry" to "the ultimate expression of love and affection" to "germs".

I think the meaning of a kiss is overblown. To me it's usually a release of sexual tension, though I also love to give a woman I care about a slow and passionate kiss.

I hate people touching me normally and the degree to which I let someone do that expresses my degree of friendship I have with them. I've always particularly hated being kissed on the cheek by people I barely know.

A proper kiss on the lips then is for me a sign of trust and feelings of connectedness with that person.
