Is it common for aspies and people with other autist spectrum disorders to have difficulties with concentration? I have always had.

Only when I'm overloaded, either with sensory issues or too much social interaction. Under either of those conditions, I can't even concentrate long enough to read a magazine article, let alone together any work done.

Agree with above, stuff like classroom lights ruins my concentration.

Didn´t you have difficulties with concentrating in school? It was always difficult for me to concentrate long unless it was my special interest. Isn´t this autistic or asperger trait?

I am terrible at concentrating on subjects that do not appeal to me, but the ones that do come naturally.

If you want advice on trying to concentrate, I would advise seeking a system of learning that works for you. Don't worry about grades or results during this seeking process; they will be bad. In the long run, however, a well-established self-discipline system will ultimately pay off.

The shrinks say I can't focus on things due to ADHD.
But depends. I can hyperfocus on something when I'm interested in it.
I can't focus if I'm not interested.
But when I take my med I can usually focus on things, even if I'm not interested.

a good brisk walk outdoors, for about a half-hour or 45 minutes, seems to clear away the cobwebs and enable me to concentrate for a few hours.

Try to make getting good grades an interest.... This worked for me.

Otherwise, I only have problems concentrating due to sensory issues... A white noise app works wonders for that!
