During a session with my new therapist I described "episodes" of a strange sensation I can recall experiencing all my life. She then told me to research two things, derealization and depersonalization, and to let her know which one better describes my symptoms at our next session. I have done the research but I am still having trouble figuring this out. During my episodes I feel like I am in a dream despite knowing my surroundings are reality and while I am somewhat present I feel as though I am being "pulled into myself", just below the surface so that while I remain aware of where I am and able to often hear or feel things but on a lower level of conscienceness. What do you think, DP or DR?

Sounds like a bit of both. I almost constantly have the feeling that I'm in a dream, derealisation.
