How about some good PA beers (from what I'm told), Yuengling, Rolling Rock, Troegs and (if you can stand the taste), Iron City?
Yuengling is good and I definitely like it better than Rolling Rock. Iron City is crappy. When I was a kid we lived downriver from Pittsburgh and some people drank Iron City as if it were actually good.
I usually keep Yuengling or Michelob in the frige.
For import beer typically available in the US I like:
Molson Golden
Pilsner Urquell
Bitburger
Warsteiner
Bass
Peroni
Dos Equis
Not necessarily in that order and I'm forgetting a few.
Hence the comment on Iron City Beer. Some people I went to college with said while Iron City sucked, IC Light was not too bad. There's another small brewery in Elk county, PA that makes a good brew, unfortunately, it doesn't travel very well. I forget the name of the brew
At least it's not Ballentine, Schmidt's or Schaefer. Ballentine and Schmidt's were Filthydelphia brews, using the water from the Delaware River. Schaefer came from Allentown, and used the Schuykill River as it's base.
Carling Black Label, and National Bohemian out of Bawlmer were pretty rancid. The only out her beers I heard that were any good were Heileman's Old Style from somewhere in the Midwest and Leininkugel's out of Western Wisconsin.
