I like Stout. Ale is okay, but lager is only good for killing garden slugs.

Ale = top fermenting, lager = bottom fermenting. There are countless styles of beer, and ale vs. lager is relatively unimportant.

Only to the unsophisticated palate.

Beer I drink but not necessarily in this order:

Molson Golden
Bitburger Pilsner
Pilsner Urquell
Czechvar
Dos Equis
Michelob lager
Michelob amberbach
Yuenging
Bass Pale Ale (The only pale ale I like)
Newcastle
Harp
Stella Artois

That's all I can think of offhand but there are others.

The last three taste like pee. You can do better than that.

Where do you live?

Locally brewed real ale is my favourite, dark brews are the best, but I do occasionally like honeyed ale.
My favourite brand is Batemans, especially Dark Lord
Not keen on largers.
Stouts are a mixed field for me, some I like but others not.

Have you had Batemans Dark Mild? I'd love to try that at some point, but it's very low alcohol.

I don't drink alcoholic beverages. To me, beer tastes like regurgitated bear urine.

I don't even take wine for communion. The only time I'll even take wine for communion is if 1) the ladies in the altar guild get mixed up when my church does communion around the altar rail, 2) wine is the only thing offered, which I find common in the Angican Communion, The Lutheran Church--Missouri Synod, and the Wisconsin Evagnelical Lutheran Synod.

Besides, Mom came from a dysfunctional family. Grandpa and Great-Grandpa were the town drunks. I got to the point that I got so p*ssed at him for being drunk on christmas eve, I refused to see him. I don't give a damn that his birthday is on Christmas Eve! You don't get stinking drunk on one of the holiest night of the year.

In addition, the local constabulary around here, as well as the Pennsylvania State Police have zero tolerance for drunk drivers. That, and PA has implied consent on the books. If you're pulled over for drunk driving, and you refuse the sobriety test, kiss your license goodbye.

Beer is one of my fascinations. I think it's fair to say I like the occasional brew.

Currently relaxing with a tankard of this:
