And Cow Kitty is a girl cat.

Ha! I was right, your avatar IS a girl, just you're not, now it make sense. Your cat is cute, by the way, not that i'm into that sort of thing.

Does anyone here get mistaken for a member of the opposite gender online? I have been mistaken for a guy so many times (both here and elsewhere) and I will have to admit that I have made that mistake with a couple of other members who shall remain nameless.

Thoughts on how we might be able to go about fixing that problem, anyone?

No, I don't have that problem. Assuming is a milder form of underestimating, which is one of the greatest strategical blunders one can ever make.

If I'm ever unsure as to what sex is talking, I simply look for clues in their posts (some are dead giveaways: the color of the words, their avatar)

Yeah but you people voted for her to be my avatar, the rest were male and I even had a picture of myself.

If you didn't know me, would you think that I was male or female, and why?

Ah, i found the thread but the pictures weren't on display, guess i missed it. If i had known THAT then i probably wouldn't have thought you were a girl, oh well.

That's sort of a hard question, as i know you are a girl (really hope you are a girl and i'm not confusing you with someone else, nah, you're hard to forget). Judging by your posts, you sound like a girl, i think, though it is rather hard to tell what one sounds like when one can not hear, who likes Routemasters, London and The Beatles.

I would think you are female because that's what your profile on this site says.

Some of your posts are a give away, but otherwise I form impressions about people partly from their avatars. As yours is gender neutral, like Starr's, I would look at the member profile.

I don't think I would be mistaken for a girl from my avatar

ALex, if you are watching, I also would like an optional gender symbol under the username.

Well, KBABZ seems to be a guy-related thing, but I can tell it can be annoying getting your gender mistaken (tinky, anyone?).

I thought Cockney was a girl. Here's a dead give-away: Women's Discussion Forum.

I'm not sure if I'm ever mistaken for a boy. I'd actually be flattered if someone did.
