Can someone give me suggestions for movies about Autism, that were made BY Autistic people? As someone with Asperger's I wish I could find more stuff that were made by people who actually know what it's like and not something from a parent who makes the same speech about the difficulties of raising one. No offense, I just want something more. In fact I'm also tired of seeing Autism Speaks members and doctors talk about it.

Are there any?
There's Temple Grandin, sure, but what's out there?
If anyone has suggestions for good television or animated programs with positive examples of Autism that's good too.

I'm asking for my psychology essay on Autism in the media...I'm frustrated by some of the material I'm seeing, as lot of it seems repetitive and ridiculous and sappy to me. I don't want to present a "feel sorry for us" picture, you know? That's what I get from some of these...I don't know if I'm being over sensitive to it but I just want to see something...well believable? unconditionally unapologetic?

Geezzz this makes me want to make my own documentary and interview the other students who have Autism at my college.

I know that Alex is making his documentary.

I know that Nick Dubin went through some legal issues lately regarding child porn, but his DVD was really good to watch, I found. Asperger Syndrome and Employment: a Personal Guide for Succeeding at Work. Nick Dubin, $43.95 DVD format, 43 minutes

Anyway, those are all I know about. There are a tonne of Youtube documentaries that are compelling and interesting. There are also educational programs available off of AutismHangout too. I am not sure if all are videos are not.
