Should bare human female mammary areolae be legal in public?
What about forbidding the display of a bare male torso as either an immodest show of muscle or a lame attempt at one?

No, I was not, and I remember breast feeding.
I just don't care to watch someone doing it...especially if I'm trying to eat. I think a breastfeeding mother needs to consider her surroundings and be considerate of other people's sensibilities.
Chances are the Mom is in there with her family, who am I going to throw out?The a**hole bitching or a whole table of paying customers?I hope the manager you complain to has breast fed or their wife or sister has.
Again, why do parents insist on taking little kids (or infants) to movie theaters, churches that offer child care service and don't use them, etc. INCONSIDERATENESS. Their kids are so special they should be able to carry on, cry, scream, etc. in public no matter how much it bothers others when my generation learned to keep the kids away from places that mandate a level of self-control and proper behavior.
And it's about just plopping it out to feed in plain view...not doing it if you're trying to conceal it from view.
^^^Why would I carry a kid to a mover theatre?I also want to watch the movie in peace(drive-in movie theaters were great for people with kids), that I agree on.But Moms need a night out and maybe you can't get a sitter or don't trust them. Most babies get quiet when offered the breast and go to sleep.A friend of mine was breast feeding her infant in church,an ol' biddie said"You should do that in the bathroom,"Her husband's reply to the biddie,"Why don't you take your plate lunch in the bathroom and eat it?"
Some parents have to ride buses or planes with small screeching kids, they don't have a choice.Maybe the poor embarrassed Mom with the screaming toddler hasn't got to eat out in months.I think the idea of being in a room with screaming kids is a horrifying thought, but since I was a parent, I have sympathy for the poor Moms and Dads who are going to listen to that all night and for years to come.I'm glad mine are grown and I feel no need for grandkids.

Well, that's why if you MUST, you (a) ask to be seated where there is some natural cover so if you must, it's not obvious to everyone and/or (b) carry a small towel to help keep things covered up. It's about being considerate others.
I don't care for this trend where some people their nipples (or babies) are so precious that they should be allowed to do as they please and to Hell with everyone else around them. If I want to cuss or tell off-color jokes in front of your kids, you'd say I should watch myself and do it only when appropriate. I see no difference in asking a breast feeding woman to try and conceal it so the view is not forced upon others. In your home, it's your choice. In public, you have to be sensitive to how others may feel.
^^^^I feel the same way about fanny packs, what an eyesore, they should be banned. But I don't have to look at them.I don't know what trend you are talking about but I haven't seen boobies hanging out with babies attached unless you are in a Hippie enclave. But I don't live in a big city.Maybe totally different where you are at.

It's just an argument/attitude I've seen of late.
"It's natural! It's wholesome! I should be able to do it in public."
"Perhaps, but it makes me want to vomit when I see it."
And as far as looking away goes....well, we shouldn't be drawn to traffic accidents, but there's just something in us that can't help but look.
Until somewhat recently, the only time I saw a woman breast feeding was either in her home or some other quasi-private place where I could easily step out of the room if I didn't want to see it. On a train, I could be more understanding.
In a decent restaurant (not fast food), I won't tolerate it. I'm paying to enjoy a good meal. If someone came in with horrible BO or obnoxious behavior that I found offensive, it would ruin why I came to the place, and my leaving isn't much of an option because I may have already ordered, already gotten my food, and if I leave, I'm expected to pay for something of which I was deprived.
I know I've been asked repeatedly to "quiet down" in a restaurant because I can't monitor my volume that well. It is odd that it's somehow wrong of me to take parents to task because their kid can't sit and behave itself, but it's okay for me to be chastised if my conduct offends others.
^^^^It would be nice if all restaurants had quiet booths for people.I don't eat out much because I don't like the back ground murmur of people talking and the clink of silver ware.I can handle it if I've had a few drinks but that may not be an option for you.
I would not have a problem with some restaurants requiring that kids be above a certain age.If I go to the library I want it to be quiet,so I guess there should be restaurants that are family friendly, because I know parents need a break, and then some with no kids allowed.

I don't think women are turned on the same way as men by just nudity in general. While I like seeing a tanned and shirtless landscaping crew, I don't have that intense a reaction. I've kinda got a "soon one, seen 'em all" attitude about male parts but I don't think men would ever develop that kind of attitude towards females.

I see no reson for it to be ilegal - like othre people haev mentioned, if it becme comon place or at least acepted, people wuold not react as much and it wuold be wonderful if western socity cuold finally go back to seein the naked human form as something naturall and/or beautiful rathre than something repulsivve or awkward or tying it hevily to sexulity. Amazonian, african, and certin pacific tribes have topless womenn (and sometimes compltely naked women) and dont see the men there gawkingg becuse its something normal to them and nothng to be ashamed or disgustd of. My religon and the subcultuer surounding it that I was raised in has enuogh nudity and glorifcation of the human body taht while I find breasts atractive, theyre not something Im going to get excited ovre or think they aer disgsting unliek those appaerntly raised in conventionall modern culture with all of itss indoctrinated taboos on the human body.

We don't go absolutely nuts about it. I recently attended an event where about 60% of the females were bare assedly naked. I was all "Nice view" but aside from that, I didn't go nuts with lust or anything. I simply appreciate the bosoms as works of natural art.
Wanna play with one, wanna play with ’em all
But I think going nuts is a learned response, and also one aspies probably tend not to learn.

The idea itself doesn't bother me at all. My only pause is the idea of of it being perceived as a bid for excessive attention. It would be nice for this country to develop a more" European "attitude about bodies, but there always seems to be a politically conservative backlash that brings us back to start. A country that touts "freedom", but then embraces almost Puritanical values.
I wonder why that is?
Probably for the same reason we gents are oddly curious about the size of our fellow male's genitalia? Men are always surveyed as feeling constantly inadequate as to the size of their non-John-Holmes sized penises, why wouldn't women feel self-conscious as to their breasts, since they've been taught that size matters?
Also, women are never good enough. TV, magazines, porn, all create this fantastic idea of what a woman should be, and no woman can attain it. Yeah, think of the hottest porn starlet you can think of. They airbrush that. Actresses too. Women feel inadequate because they "should" look like a barbie doll, but they actually look like... a human. Just like we men think we need a good 16" or something to satisfy a woman, thanks to porn.
Personally I think it's a shame, because women are %&$*ing hot. That includes cellulite, wrinkles and all.
