Hey everyone I'm 24 and never been in a relationship so I'm thinking one of these days in the future I might try a dating site. If anyone on here uses them please tell me some of the ones that you find helpful. Hope this is not to weird and thank you. I hope all is doing well.

I've tried a bunch, but OKCupid is the only one that works well IMO and it's completely free. That said, I still can't get a single date....not sure why I even bother trying.

I second OKC, and I just happen to have written a handy starter guide for that site:

datehookup.com is another good one that doesn't get mentioned much here. It has active forums including a disability forum (seen some aspies in there too). It's all free and basic and advanced searches work similar to POF.

The majority of dating sites are scams in disguise. Most require credit cards to pay for upgrades.

Be careful, there are predators on the dating sites and they can seem very sweet and sincere. If they pressure you into anything you are uncomfortable with end contact.

Out of curiosity, are there any real dating sites that are for mainly for autistic people rather than neurotypicals? There was one I found, but it didn't seem legitimate. Are the only options just to use general sites like OKCupid?

My longest relationship was with someone I didn't meet through a dating site, but they are one of my highest "matches" now on OkCupid which indicates it gets things pretty right. I've had some relationships from OkCupid but none from any other site, I find all the rest rubbish but that's probably just because of my unique needs and the sort of person I'm looking for.

So basically, in my opinion, OkC is great.

OkCupid can be good if used correctly... granted, there are a lot of both men and women on there who are just there for the hell of it and don't actually have any interest in finding a relationship through it or even meeting anyone... but I've met quite a few women through it and some have gone on to 2nd, 3rd, 4th dates. The main thing about dating sites is not to get discouraged, and don't get your hopes up too much even after the 1st or 2nd date. Even if you message women selectively (as in, the ones you actually have any interest in meeting as opposed to spamming an entire area like a lot of guys do) and actually put thought into your messages, you still won't ever see a response around 40-50% of the time, by my estimates. Women on dating sites get an absolute f**kton of messages, most of which range from hilariously terrible to downright disturbing (google anything along the lines of "okcupid fails" for examples... it's worth a good laugh if nothing else) so I can hardly blame them.
