Beauty and the Beast TV Series (1987 - 1990)

I used to watch it back in the late 90's, it was aired by the not existing anymore channel RTL7 here in Poland. I didn't remember it too well until now, just the intro and the fact Catherine dies at the end, but I'm going to refresh my knowledge of this great series now, together with some other TV shows I used to watch then - like Amazing Stories and Highway to Heaven But I'm not going to watch the new version I discovered was made last year

I remember watching all of those shows when they originally aired in the 80s. Those shows were some of my favourites. I wouldn't watch the new version of Beauty and The Beast either. Why spoil the fond memories that I have of the original series?
