I'm keeping this very simple:

What, would you say, is the difference between being assertive and being annoying in a "pre-relationship"? Specifically, asking the person you're attracted to to do things with you/you doing things with them. Is it just a matter of personal tolerance? Or is there a real difference?

It's all personal.

Is only in the "Eye of the Beholder," meaning them, you can never know in advance, you can only guess.
So relax and pretend everything is ok and acceptable because you mean it to be.

Turning up places that you know they will be when you haven't been invited is a big no.

Commenting on all of their facebook updates is a no.

Phoning them every day is a no.

Texting them 20 times a day is a no.

Texting once to arrange to meet up is ok. Commenting on one or two facebook updates is ok.

Just don't be too intense. Be interested in them, but don't smother them.
