So, when I was young I used to have these two rows of ridges in the roof of my mouth between the hard and soft palate, I belive they are called Rugae, I used to run my tongue along them and so in later life I often remember them as now and for years past they have been completely gone and my palate is smooth.

Except, I just noticed, they have come back!

Whats going on?
Is my head shrinking?

I don't know if they come and go, but are more pronounced during dehydration ect.

not in the area you have them, mine are towards the front - they are always there though, they don't come and go - funny never thought about them.

Pretty much like I assumed people recognized each other by hearing others voices until 6th grade when they finally gave me glasses and I found out people are supposed to SEE!
