Do you have 'issues' with stairs?

(I'd like to edit the poll questions so there'd be one which has "I hate going up AND down stairs... but it won't let me edit the poll.)

I am ok going up, not so keen on going down, probably some primitive fear of falling.

I have always had trouble with stairs, up and down. partly due to clumsiness, but also asthma gets me on the way up. Now my joints are old, I have rheumatiod arthritis, and my coordination is no better. Down scares me in case I catch one of my big ol' plates of meat on a stair lip.

Why is there no "I hate both going up and going down stairs"? I would have voted for that, but I randomly chose up or down in its absence.

I have trouble going up and down stairs, some more than others. Not that I get tired or whatever (though I do get winded easily) but because of that "problems regulating the movements of the left and right sides of my body" thing.

I never thought about putting hating both going up and down stairs combined.
I hate going down stairs so much more than going up stairs. I always feel like I'm going to fall. I'm pretty slow going up stairs, but I don't avoid it like the plague the way I do walking down stairs. Escalators are just as bad for me.
The movator at WalMart is the worst!! !! EEEkkkkk!! !! !

You can edit the first post BeautyWithin and add the extra option, although Mnemosyne won't be able to make a re-post.

I love stairs, I've always loved stairs in houses, especially the spiral ones!

Hey! I spiral escalator! How would that work, I wonder?

I like the feeling of climbing stairs or hills but hate the coming doen part,it just feels awkward.I would rather do either then use an elivator or escalater.....the stairs are usually void of people.

I dislike going up stairs, but I enjoy running down stairs (Which miraculously, hasn't resulted in injury, yet anyway). So I voted indifferent, since they cancel each other out.

Mostly indifferent, unless the stairs have cracks in them where I can see the ground. Then I get a bit freaked out and think I'm going to fall through the hole.

Indifferent but sometimes I count stairs as I'm going up or down and that annoys me because I can't help it.

I like stairs, as long as I can't see through them and there is at least one wall. Otherwise, I become anxious.

It depends on the stairs, but I'm not real fond of going down stairs. I'm better if there is a wall or rail there.

Interesting discussion, I thought it was just me. Going up stairs is ok, but going down takes some conscious effort to get the right movements coordinated. (My balance isn't very good either so that's probably a factor too.) And ladders are worse - I can go up, but figuring out how to get back down is really hard.
