I named him that because he was indigo under a certain light.

It has nothing to do with this thread though, but I thought I'd just mention it anyway.

I hope nobody minds.

I do mind. Do you have a picture of your dog under that sort of light? It sounds like something pretty cool to watch.

This. I may be too "realistic" for my own good, but I have never bought into the idea of souls, other worlds, past lives, psychics, or people who were "put on earth to do great things". I believe in things science can prove, what it has proven, genes, evolution, memory, understanding, etc. If that makes me narrow minded, well, I can live with that.

I just had to laugh at this :D

While I have no problem with the idea that some people are born with spiritual gifts one of the books claimed 90% of kids born in the 90s were these so called indigo children.

Well rats, looks like I'm one of the 10% who missed the boat on that then.

I have always thought that there is a reason that there appears to be so many people are born with HFA. I feel a possible explanation might be that we are actually Indigo Children. A lot of the characteristics of Indigo Children and HFA are the same such as being overly logical and anti-social. What are your thoughts on this?

I don't have the dog anymore, it was over 20 years ago now. Sorry :)

I want to get a Blue Heeler someday. I thought about naming him Blue, but I supposed I could name him Indigo or even Cerulius.

Very cute. I've just Google imaged them.

My dog was a Staffordshire Bull terrier. I have been trying to get an image but they all look superimposed, so I didn't bother.

The term "Indigo Child" was originally applied to children with ADD/ADHD. Now some parents have co-opted the term to describe their own Autistic children.

One can understand why many parents would not want their child to be labeled as ADD, ADHD or Autistic. These labels imply imperfection. Some may even take them to mean the child is "broken", "damaged", or "defective" in some way, when in reality they mean only that their child's behavior is due to a neuro-biological condition. To some, this is the same as having a malfunctioning brain or a mental disorder -- they don't want to be known as the parents of a "ret*d" or a "Psycho" (nasty words, used here for illustrative purposes only).

Understandably, emotions run high here. Equally understandable is that such parents are in desperate denial of their children's condition, so they try to pass their child off as "special" in some way ... sorta like that unwed mother of an unusually kind and intelligent child who tried to pass her son off as some kinda messiah or something ...

There simply is no objective and empirical evidence to even suggest that "Indigo Children" have any supernatural abilities -- any claims to the contrary are more likely to be some form of wishful thinking, deception, or outright fraud.

Apparently we're aliens. Kind of cool even if it is incorrect.

I dunno, my mom once asked her father, referring to the people in our family "Why are we so weird?" he looked at her and said, with a perfectly straight face, "We're aliens."
Of course, as it turns out he was likely a sociopath, albeit one who never killed anyone, so I suppose he was probably just joking.
At least, I hope so.
