Please read this article, and decide for yourself how Pastor Jamie Coots died.

Snake-handling pastor refuses care, dies from bite

Quote:
A snake-handling pastor who appeared on the National Geographic television reality show "Snake Salvation" has died after being bitten by a snake during a weekend church service in Kentucky.

When an ambulance arrived at the church at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, they were told Coots had gone home, the Middlesboro Police Department said in a statement. Contacted at his house, Coots refused medical treatment.

Emergency workers left about 9:10 p.m. that night. When they returned about an hour later, Coots was dead from a venomous snake bite, police added.

Personally, I'm voting "d. All of the Above".

Silly for many reasons but:

A) That passage in Mark is a later insertion not found in the earliest gospels. He was just trolled by a scribe.

B) He's not drinking poison as it also suggests (or predicts) so deep down he knows faith won't really save him.

C) The bible specifically says not to tempt god. And specifically mentions people being killed by serpents as a result

Coots did pray to God eight times to help him recover from a snakebite. Maybe God just got tired of healing the idiot over and over again.

What kind of snake?Copperheads are rarely fatal.I know several who have been bitten and did not receive medical treatment. The one person I know that did go to the hospital had a reaction to the anti-venom that was worse than the bite.If it was a rattlesnake or cottonmouth then it would be a good idea to get help.A lot depends on where the bite is,the closer to the heart or head, get help quick. Some snakes will do a dry bite and not release venom.Babies are worse because the don't know how to regulate the flow of venom.
If you pick up the snake to show off how holy you are,you will get bit for sure.Thats what I've heard.
I like snakes, but I'm not going to hang a timber rattler around my neck.

He took a risk.
He got bit.
He died.
The end.

According to the article, it was a rattlesnake. It doesn't say which type, though.

Just for the record: To avoid any confusion in connection with the fact that rattlesnakes are pit vipers (Crotalinae) I feel the need to make the following statement:

It wasn't me.

I should have tapped on the colored print to see the whole article.Silly me.
He should have just let the snakes stay in the woods where they belong.
That snake was obviously an atheist.
