Do you think tough gun laws make it easier or harder for a populace to liberate themselves from a tyrannical government?

well since every tyrannical government has made getting guns tougher I would say yes it makes it harder
theres a reason the right to bare arms is second only to free speech. a government stays honest when they know at any moment there could be an armed group removing them from power. thats why the government like to have a monopoly on violence

I don't think it makes much difference to the result. The US has had a number of revolts by people with small arms. It's never worked because military success involves more than tactical success.

There are also recent examples of people acquiring small arms from depots and police stations once things begin but that is often insufficient for victory when the government has heavy weapons and air power. You need supply chains, heavy weapons, a way to neutralize air power, etc. If you can get those things, you can get weapons anyway.

If the government goes (more) tyrannical, some people might regret some of the things they say in threads such as this
