This happens to me a lot....I'll be thinking about a song I like, or one of the songs they play on the radio all the time, and it'll just pop into my head and sort of play on a loop without my ever having heard it. Yesterday morning it was the song "Rude" by Magic!. It doesn't bother me, I'm just curious as to why it seems to happen almost of its own accord. Does anyone else experience this?

Yup. Ear worms. Happens to almost everyone. It's not just an ASD trait.

Yep--almost every day. Sometimes I'll wake up with one in my head, even if I haven't actually heard it in a long time, and it'll be there all day.

I get random words or phrases stuck in my head. The weird thing is a fare amount of the time I don't know what they mean and I have to look them up in a dictionary or google translate. The only way it is at all possible that this could happen is that I heard or read it somewhere, it got tucked into my brain, and then resurfaced randomly.

Yes, I have that, too. I don´t just do it with songs, but also with words or whole sentences I have heard before (even it was a long time ago when I heard it).

I'll tell you a true story.

When I was about 12 I used to walk about a mile to school. Every single morning on the way there - until I left - I used sing this made up song in my head. It went like:

"Farmer Ted in his little constructor" ... That's all it was, on repeat in my head.

To this day I STILL sing the same loop in my head when I am walking somewhere. That was almost 20 years ago.

Isn't this how songs are written? Wasn't every song ever make on planet earth conceived from doing this?

Same here. Sometimes, it seems to happen in reverse--I'll "hear" the song, then hear from the person. :)
