Because we think the Lexapro might be causing constipation that has lasted for days and has not let up in the face of increased fiber, increased water intake, increased exercise, a stool softener, and a laxative, I am being switched to Prozac. I will go with my doctor on this one, but I wonder how the Prozac will affect me. He's going to start me on 20 mg/day.
In October 2012, when I was having rage and panic attacks the Prozac seemed to increase their edge. Nevertheless, my current psychiatrist says the benzodiazepine I'm on should counter that.
When my dose of Prozac went up to 60 mg/day on June 1, 1998, my first delusions formed and crystallized by by the middle of that month, so I wonder if taking a dose like that again may expose a psychotic vulnerability. Nevertheless, I am sticking with my doctor's orders, have asked my parents to keep a lookout for odd behavior, and will be looking out for myself, too. He doesn't think I will develop psychosis again.
