i have intermittent explosive disorder and when people give me dirty looks i feel rage. does anybody know coping skills i can use to handle this problem. thanks

There aren't any.

Humans are much like birds able to comprehend human communication visually.
Sadly the visual stuff for some people is "worse" than just saying "What is on your mind".

I am the same.

,but I don't retaliate.

For me it takes a long process of being harmed in order for me to make judgement on weather or not retaliation for me is a good thing.

For example my polish freind, not behaving as a freind. Thankfully I didn't retaliate.

Focus on your breathing is one of the few things that comes to mind. Energy exercises as qigong, tai chi or yoga if you are that way inclined might help you in the long run too in learning to manage your emotions.
