I think the bulk of the increase in advertising came form in-kind contributions. It's a substantial budget increase, unfortunately. Don't give up hope though. There's plenty of reasons to be optimistic.
I'd say services, research, and advertising are facially legit, since advertising could involve awareness and encouraging early diagnoses. That's wouldn't be a bad thing if it were done in a less venomous way. Bottom line, they spend more than 25% on overhead. There's absolutely no excuse for that from an organization with the nine-figure budget.
