Did anyone catch this? I enjoyed the novel quite a bit.

I didn't enjoy the novel, but maybe something visual would be better.

Thanks for the tip! I'm watching right now...

So far it's really good, but nothing like the book. It just happens to be set in P.K. Dick's world.

I hope it gets picked up for series!

Amazon is really doing some good stuff these days.

There were some people online complaining about under emoting of certain characters, but I think it works perfectly within the Japanese cultural setting.

This show is fantastic.

The Japanese side of things intrigued me most of all. They seemed more than a little sympathetic, operating as a safe haven for all of the races the nazis had marked for death. They seem to understand the truce is ending and what that means.

I hope Tagomi is a primary character. The actor who plays him is great.

Jesus, is this out already? I read something about a TV adaptation a year or so ago but haven't seen anything since, not one little mention. The movie and entertainment websites I frequent have somehow let it fall through the cracks. I even heard about the 12 Monkeys TV show, but nothing on High Castle in over a year.

I like the book, but I wouldn't put it in my Top 5 list of Philip K. Dick novels. How it won the Hugo award is beyond me; but then it was 1962, before Dick wrote masterpieces like Ubik and A Scanner Darkly. His best work before the mid-60s was in short story form; his novels hadn't made a huge impact yet. But I guess High Castle would be ideal for a TV adaptation, since it's not the laser guns and flying cars type of sci-fi; it's more cerebral and philosophical rather than technological.

Anyway, I'll have to check it out. Thanks for posting the topic; I probably would have gone on not knowing about it otherwise. :)
