Earlier this month my brother brought home a lot of Popeye's. He definitely bought more than what was going to be eaten. I should also point out that he is very overweight, if not obese. I knew he wasn't going to finish all that he bought. In fact, he even went as far as to buy his 2 year old child an entire meal. Of course his child didn't finish it. He barely ate any of that meal anyway.

I decide to complain to my brother, "why do you buy so much food that you're not even going to eat?". His best answers included:
*"I don't care about the kids in Africa" (Great. A lack of humility)
*"I can waste my money on what I want" (Yeah. And you complain about other things relating to finance. Hypocrisy)
*"I want my boy to grow strong" (Teach him to be so gluttonous? Beautiful!)

Take note that this pisses me even more of because growing up I knew what it was like to not have enough to eat. My dad always taught me from a young age to enjoy everything you're served, and to always finish your meal; if you're too full, save it for later. My brother conveniently forgets all of this. For some reason my brother also has a fear of saving food for later and eating it after being refrigerated (oh no, it was frozen! boo hoo!).

As a link though this wasn't some f*****g narcissist. The United States alone wastes a staggering 31 percent of food. I don't even know what that number is for other Western countries. Obesity has become a major health problem in many countries. Honestly, I don't f*****g understand it at all.

Forget capitalism and socialism. Let's think with our brains. Why not have a lot of that projected wasted food be sent to other countries where the people would be so freaking grateful? Why not encourage restaurants to give food to shelters, etc? Why waste all this food?
