*Heads up. This sounds kind of stupid.*

When I think suicidal thoughts, I often get a stinging sensation in my right index and middle finger. (Sometimes just my index finger, in which the sensation is usually more intense.) It's always the same fingers on the same hand. I have no idea how that correlates to suicidal thoughts, but it happens a lot.

Is there any sort of explanation for this? It sounds like the most random thing ever, but it's happening and it kind of hurts.

Do you want the suicidal thoughts or does some part of you reject them or know they aren't right?

I believe it's the latter. The physical pain seems to happen when I'm feeling the most emotional pain, I guess.

Some people develop a tic sort of reaction in response to unwanted thoughts. Or maybe you the pains just happened to coincide with thoughts of suicide and your brain subconsciously associated the thought with the pain and as you remember it, maybe subconsciously, when you have a thought, the reaction connection has gotten stronger?
