Geri Dawson, a former A$ Chief Science Officer tweeted this link.

I agree with the premise that medical research and neurodiversity need not be mutually exclusive. However, the author's insinuation that neurodiversity is only supported by "high functioning" people who have what was formerly called aspergers, that shows either an intent to mislead or just how little they listen to neurodiversity advocates. If they think that the serach for a cure and other research is the only problem with A$, that also shows a lack of listening.

Funny. Someone wants to "find the cause of autism," instead of asking how they can help. At least her quest will keep her far away from me.

I think we may find out it's like sickle cell disease.

Both beneficial and harmful to families and it's been with us forever.

Except not... because Autism is already known to have dozens of connected genes and many more to be discovered which constitute the spectrum.
