Hi my name is Terri, I am 29 years old and I got a new diagnosis of being on the autistic spectrum disorder, we are waiting for my report (my mum has been waiting for a few months for it) I live in England. I don't have any friends only my family, I find social situations awkward and I tend to stay away from crowds of people. I am here to make friends hopefully although I find the mechanical isms of friendship difficult but my niece who is two can make friends so easily. Not too sure what else to put really. I am just me :)

Terri

I was recently diagnosed as well, in fact my mom has been trying to get me a diagnosis for around a decade! (I am 15 years old right now).

Happy to make your acquaintance, Terri!

Yes, being diagnosed on the autistic spectrum implies a different lifestyle indeed.

In my case, it's a little confusing. I was diagnosed with social communication disorder since age 5...
even though it shares similarities with autism, their link is rather controversial.

So, you understand... I seek clarity of mind, hehe!

Thank you everyone, my mum also lead a campaign to get me diagnosed. I had been attending appointments to my psychiatrist and he referred me to the autism centre in Cambridge as he thought I had Aspergers, but it came as a total surprise (to me anyways) to be diagnosed as on the Autistic Spectrum Disorder. I am still trying to get my head around it.

My interests are photography, urbexing (when I can get out of the house and it has been scheduled so it doesn't affect my routine) and the paranormal as my sister's old house was haunted after my brother in law died (her partner and dad to my three nieces)
