I also have a lot of conscious repetition in my head, I think because I have a lot of anxiety about saying things correctly.
My son does this. I thought it was echolalia, but what he typically does is repeat all or a portion of the last sentence he just said.
I do think he has delayed echolalia too though, particularly if something has tapped into an interest of his. He repeats lines from movies he loves all the time. Just saying out of know where and for no reason "why is the rum always gone?" (Pirates of the Carribean) or "the name is bond, James Bond" or "I would like a vodka martini ... Shaken not stired". (James bond).
