Gabba gabba hey

Hows about this Magazine; Song From Under The Floorboards

I am angry I am ill and I'm as ugly as sin
my irritability keeps me alive and kicking
I know the meaning of life, it doesn't help me a bit
I know beauty and I know a good thing when I see it

This is a song from under the floorboards
this is a song from where the wall is cracked
my force of habit, I am an insect
I have to confess I'm proud as hell of that fact

I know the highest and the best
I accord them all due respect
but the brightest jewel inside of me
glows with pleasure at my own stupidity

This is a song ....

I used to make phantoms I could later chase
images of all that could be desired
then I got tired of counting all of these blessings
and then I just got tired

This is a song ...

I like it!

This is a public service announcement
With guitar
Know your rights all three of them

Number 1
You have the right not to be killed
Murder is a CRIME!
Unless it was done by a
Policeman or aristocrat
Know your rights

And Number 2
You have the right to food money
Providing of course you
Don't mind a little
Investigation, humiliation
And if you cross your fingers
Rehabilitation

Know your rights
These are your rights
Wang

Know these rights

Number 3
You have the right to free
Speech as long as you're not
Dumb enough to actually try it.

Know your rights
These are your rights
All three of 'em
It has been suggested
In some quarters that this is not enough!
Well..............................

Get off the streets
Get off the streets
Run
You don't have a home to go to
Smush

Finally then I will read you your rights

You have the right to remain silent
You are warned that anything you say
Can and will be taken down
And used as evidence against you

Listen to this
Run

The Clash. Know Your Rights. Maybe Mondegreened.

Remember that Hamster?

I sure do! It is Aspie, isn't it?

I saw the Ramones open for Billy Idol back in the day (I know -- what's wrong with that picture :? ), and the crowd actually BOOED the Ramones off stage. Billy, to his credit, came out and shouted obscenities at the crowd, was like "are you people nuts? It's the RAMONES you stupid gits!"

I also love The Clash. Saw them open for the Stones at a huge stadium in Buffalo. Guess what happened? Yup. Crowd booed The Clash.

I think it's safe to say that Western New York is full of a-holes.

Well, in their defense, the crowd for the Stones and the crowd for the Clash wouldn't have that much overlap... :)

Right now, I'm trying to convince iTunes to play my newly-downloaded Rush album, Snakes & Arrows, as a complete album - it wants to keep playing the same track over and over. I suspect my wife (whose depression is accompanied by just a touch OCD) has been at the controls again!

I love that song. Often request it.

Listening to BOC - Specters right now,
drinking SoCo, trying to get up the
courage that I need.

Hey, off topic here, but why isn't my signature showing up? Darn it. It was such a good one, too...

I went to a Stones Concert that Eddie Money opened for, then I found out it was Mick Jagger's birthday and he (and his promoters, this WAS a Bill Graham concert) crashed Money's gig to 'celebrate' and I must say, the Stones rocked the house. However all the Eddie Money fans were pissed, ticked off and other wise ready to rumble with the Stones fans on the way out of the Oakland Colosseum.

I could be wrong, but didn't the Clash do a tour with BB King as supourt? Given that the Stones have made a career out of ripping off natty wee blues riffs (Howlin Wolf, BB King, Big Bill Broonzy etc.) Hmmm certain irony in there

Might be too long or you don't have the box checked to display it.

Thanks, Zanne!

No problem. If that is the biggest problem I have right before vacation, I am doing good!

Glad to help!

I have to confess, music has been my main, lifelong obsession... of course, I sometimes wish it were something on a more intellectual level, but there we are. I listen to it from when I wake to when I sleep practically. I listen to almost everything from Buddy Holly to The Beatles, from Enya to Metallica...I just love music, but take away any of that metal where they scream their lungs out or growl at me. I cannot deal with that... no discord for me. Once I start sharing music with someone, that is it, I will be sharing song after song, and talking about why I like it. I also love sharing lyrics... I suppose, music is an alternative way to let people know how you feel...someone else wrote the words, but some of them can fit you so well at any one time.

I love a band called Sky...quite an old group, who did a slightly modern take on the classics, well worth trying out as it is still very much in original form, but just jazzed up a bit.

My current favourite band is Within Temptation. If you like Evanescense at all, or like Rock opera, you would like this. Beautiful lyrics and not loud and crashing or clashing. :)

Music runs in my family, my brother was something of a child prodigy. He went from grade 1 to grade 8 with distinction in flute in 2 years. Started at 11 and was done at 13 with the exams. My gift is my voice. I have a very strong singing range and a 3 octave range when I am in practise. I sing every single day without fail unless at my mothers, I love singing.

I'll have to check out both bands. I can enjoy Metallica. There are times they use almost Classical guitar riffs, some almost Classical Spanish Guitar riffs. Nothing Else Matters is one of my favorites. Such dreamy music. I tend to hear the instruments separately. Do you do that Graelwyn? I can enjoy one particular part of a song if I like the way it was done for that instrument. I tend to remember it that way as well. I guess it's our predisposition to break things down into their parts.

So close, no matter how far
Couldn't be much more from the heart
Forever trusting who we are
and nothing else matters

Never opened myself this way
Life is ours, we live it our way
All these words I don't just say
and nothing else matters

Trust I seek and I find in you
Every day for us something new
Open mind for a different view
and nothing else matters

never cared for what they do
never cared for what they know
but I know

So close, no matter how far
Couldn't be much more from the heart
Forever trusting who we are
and nothing else matters

never cared for what they do
never cared for what they know
but I know

Never opened myself this way
Life is ours, we live it our way
All these words I don't just say

Trust I seek and I find in you
Every day for us, something new
Open mind for a different view
and nothing else matters

never cared for what they say
never cared for games they play
never cared for what they do
never cared for what they know
and I know

So close, no matter how far
Couldn't be much more from the heart
Forever trusting who we are
No, nothing else matters

I always picture someone on a frozen pond ice skating to this. I have no idea why.
