Hello, everyone:

I'm Douglas MacNeill, born 17 April 1964 (qualifiying me for Dino-Aspie
status). I was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome in September of 1997
after my mother heard about it on the CBC Radio program Quirks and Quarks.
I've lived in Edmonton, Alberta (Gretzky-ville) since September of 1979, when I
began senior high school. For further information, please do reply.

Hello, blessedmom:

I notice you mentioned you were from Canada (let's go Ottawa Senators!).
Do you prefer not to reveal where, or would you like to send me a less public
message telling me more?

Gosh. An adult with a diagnosis going back a whole decade. I'm impressed.

Most adults here seem to be fairly recent dignosees (?), or maybe I've got that wrong. There are a large number of mis-diagosed people about - as in, had been diagnosed with everything in the book, for many years, and had never felt any of it as "real".

Anyway, enough of all that.

Welcome.

Hello Douglas and welcome to WP.
Most of us seem to have stumbled upon AS inadvertently so it was good that it led
you to getting an official diagnosis back then. iI settled for being self dxed last year.
BTW that's a good Scottish name !

Hi, Doug!

Another "dino" Aspie. As Lau said, most of us are recently dx, so I am impressed that you were dx so long ago.

Yeah, and as someone else said, welcome home!

Hello again:

You'll be pleased to know that I just started a blog on this web
site with a brief explanation about the three basic factors that
(I think) led to my early diagnosis with Asperger's Syndrome.
Look for the phrase "Introducing my situation..." in the title of
that blog.

Sen's all the way!! In the interest of my family I can't say where I live. I do have relatives in Edmonton, though. Will be heading there on the long weekend to my little brother's wedding.
