Well, while Aquaman is hot when Alex Ross paints him, I'm gonna go with my favorites:

Spiderman: cause he does whatever a Spider can, and had a great theme song, and has the best costume ever. John Romita version has the most resonance for me. And he was my favorite since I was at least 5. And he's fun, at least when he's Spidey, and not that sad sack Peter Parker. Whine whine whine...

Batman: Because he's smart. Really smart. Really really smart. Where Superman and Wonder Woman are like gods, Batman is the superb example of brains over brawn and mind over muscle. And probably the only human that Superman fears.

Flash and Green Lantern look cool together, also great costumes. Green Lantern because he's a space cadet, and Flash because he's cocky.

The Punisher.

He shoots, slices, stabs and tortures the bad dudes.... He doesn't need superpowers.

Superman has historically enjoyed the #1 spot in name recognition surveys among Americans. i.e. More Americens know who Supermam is than know who the president is.

Hmmmm....

My favourite superheroes are:

The Hulk (I sympathise with Bruce Banner having all that pent-up anger...)

and

Batman (A superhero with no powers, an arsenal of technology, and a dark mind...)

obscure reference alert:

I always liked Mimic from the early x-men. He took on the powers and attributes of any mutants that were near him. When he was around the x-men he had all of their powers. How cool is that?

How bout Cashman? He buys your used jewellery! You have to be from Toronto to get that one...

Ha, Spiderpig is awesome. I'm not a Simpsons fan, but I enjoyed the Spiderpig part of the commercial. (If I do go to see the movie with my brother, it will only be because of that...)

I never really learned superheros.

Agreed.

And Under Dog. What's better than a shoeshine boy who turns into a super hero who talks in rhymes???

I like also Voldemort but only in one very long fanfic where Voldy decided to take little Harry and bring him up as his son, showing him the dark side of power and teaching him Black Magic.
