I've got more important things to care about then the ability of a small pokey plant to consent to denorphilla.

I just don't think that you should toy

Because I want to spot the hypocrites who think that you should be able to marry whoever you want, but not as many people as you/they want. I'm for both.

*hits catcus with baseball bat*

No visible emotinal stress, unless getting white goo all over itself is emotional stress.

People who support gay marriage, can be against polygamy, is about people believing in a family conforming 2 people, only one partner, just like straight relationships work.

It's not hypocrisy at all, I don't know why making that connection, one has nothing to do with the other really.

I don't see the catcus screaming bloody rape.

But if you did happen to rape a cactus, it would be bloody and you would scream.

Keep marriage between humans I say, but gender is unimportant. Love, commitment, loyalty etc. are human qualities, not just things that occur between members of different sexes when they are unified. From my experience, the people who want to keep marriage only as a male and female binding are typically those who see the purpose of marriage as reproduction. I say let relationships and marriages define themselves; let them be as unique as the two people who come together to create them. Emphasis on people, not cacti.

But no polygamy. You can't wholly commit yourself to and love a group of people equally. There would be preferences, jealousies, envy, rivalries etc. It's a human thing. I see it as greedy.

And when you ask of polygamy, are you meaning both the male multiple wives and female multiple husbands? There seems to be an inherent inequality here.

Maybe it's a nonverbal autistic cactus. Ever think of that?

Except there's no genital-to-genital copulation.

I'm all for gay marriage but didn't the Mormons cancel polygamy around 1890?
Like what Sopho said, all governments should keep their bigoty noses out!

I think that this is a little too limiting. If we can
discover ways of determining animal thinking
better, I'd extend love there, as well. Again, I'm
pretty opposed to marriage itself, but let's assume
that we require it for some reason. Really, it comes
down to the consent issue.

But why judge those who manage where your shortcomings
keep you from experiencing something? I know people who
have committed polyamorous relationships which have outlasted
most marriages (what 7 years is average now?).

All versions - including mixes of both. Whatever loving arrangements people wish.

{crying for mushied cactus}

The only thing government should be concerned about regarding marriage are the property rights and the rights of any children.

Otherwise, people should do what they feel is right with their lives. Marry two husbands and a wife, and a consenting cactus (or cacti, as the case may be), it shouldn't be up to the government to say how one should organize their lives.

Not like it's going to be bloody rampant or something. And how does it affect me, or anyone else? Unless someone mistakes me for a round, green prickly thing and has a baseball bat, I'm fine.

Rjaye.
