Used to be Zinedine Zidane. More when he played for Juve than Madrid though.

No, although I do have a few, a couple former Man United and England players (including Beckham).
I used to collect football cards though. I have a lot of Manchester United merchandise. Must have cost me loads.
And I collected Corinthians (figures of football players), I have loads still in their original packaging, and some rare ones.

Alastair Lynch is my hero. He has Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, and played AFL for 17 years. He started in 1986 and was diagnosed in 1995. After he was diagnosed, he went on to win 3 flags with the Lions, be the clubs leading goal kicker multiple times, and scared the smeg out of anyone who went up to play on him.

Barry Sanders.

There will never be another running back like him. The jukes and magical disappearing act behind people. The ability to elude people like it was almost magic. I played soccer/football up until the age of 15, nothing impresses me more than how Barry shook people. Make you fall flat on your face, grabbing at the grass in frustration. He would do that to anyone of any age and any time. The balance and strength he displayed is also of note.

He averaged 5 yards a carry for his career and could have ended as the best of all time if he didn't retire early. Still pictures don't do him justice as don't highlight reels, he was even spectacular when he lost yardage. He lost more yardage than any NFL runningback in history (played on crap teams for most of his career). Despite that he has one of the highest yards per carry in NFL history. No player in any sport has brought me more entertainment.

space: :)
i fully agree! especially with yodsanklai. this guys kicking form is just too good to be true. bonjasky, aerts and hoost are beyond the need to discuss either. i just dont understand enough of groundfighting to appreciate emalianenko and his type of guys' proficiency.

richardbenson: i see. all kinds of kickboxing and the like are very flashy and visually more arresting than western boxing with its restriction to hands (although the finesse of the clinch in thai boxing can be difficult to follow and apreciate for the uninitiated, too). but its that restriction that allowed some unparalleled specialization in the field of punching and counterpunching (its easier to have elaborate punching maneuvers and strategies when you dont have to worry about getting your legs kicked out from under you)
