Here here

The propagation of genes explanation just doesn't do it for me. Sure that is why/how we are here, but it doesnt give life any meaning as such.

The meaning of life is to live, it doen't have to have a meaning.

To ask such a question is like asking what is the meaning of 64.

If it doesn't have a meaning then how can the meaning be to live?

By the way, what is the meaning of 64?

The study of knowledge and the human experience, to gain a deeper understanding of the human mind.

IMO, there is no human experience or human mind. There is only the knowledge acquired by individual minds.

Cheers,

The number 23 is a discordianism reference, a neo-nazi symbol, or the name of a recent film starring Jim Carrey. I can’t decide which.

Does anyone have a real opinion about the topic or is everyone just going to post random numbers?

:x

That movie was terrible. Nice avatar oddball.

I know its terrible and I never even saw it lol. The trailer speaks for itself.
My real opinion is beyond my ability to explain, because I suck so badly at doing so. Its interesting, I can have a clear image in my mind and clear explanations of things but when I try to put them into writing or vocalization.. It just doesnt come out right, even if I go back to fix it later. Ive rarely been able to project my deep thoughts properly to anyone. I already tried though lol, if you can find my post.

I'll have to look for the post you refer to.
I feel exactly the same way. So I mostly just come up with sound bites that are probably just vague and pretentious, like this for instance.

"There is no meaning of life, there is only syntax. "

In general meaning seems more or less tied to purpose. If an element of the universe, such as an individual, decides that certain things should be accomplished and a system is visualized to accomplish that purpose then the meaning is tied to how that individual fits within that system. There are probably an infinite number of systems that can be devised for the dynamic activities of the elements now operating in the universe. I have my own preferences as to which of these systems seem valid and worthwhile. Different humans have different assessments about that.

Scientifically the purpose of all life is to preserve and procreate, to pass onto one's offspring, this is how evolution works. Through evolution the individual specimen's goals are to adopt and find happiness...

there is no meaning to life. you are not blessed but rather just a number whose time has finally come to exist. enjoy it....existence is rather brief.
