Well I saw one vote and it Oasis- Definately Maybe at number 1. Wrong, only the best bands make it big on both sides of the Atlantic, they haven't. Don't get me wrong, some of their songs are very good, but they never change. Here's my top 10, i've limited myself to one album per band, otherwise i'd be biast and fill it up with Iron Maiden and Led Zeppelin.

1. Iron Maiden- Powerslave
2. The Rolling Stones- Let it bleed
3. Ac>Dc- Back in black
4. Led Zeppelin- Houses of the holy
5. Metalica- Master of puppets
6. Nirvana- In utero
7. The Beatles- Abbey road
8. Guns n' Roses- Appetite for destruction
9. Michael Jackson- Bad
10. Pink Floyd- Dark side of the moon

What a great topic! This is way too hard but I'm going to try. These are some of my faves off the top of my head in no particular order:

Big Star - Radio City
Nick Drake - Pink Moon
Camper Van Beethoven - Our Beloved Revolutionary Sweetheart
Wilco - Yankee Hotel Foxtrot
Beatles - Revolver
My Bloody Valentine - Loveless
Velvet Underground - Velvet Underground and Nico
Moby Grape - self titled
Beck - Sea Change
Uncle Tupelo - Anodyne

I know I'll slap myself later for forgetting something but that's my quickie list.

Because as we all know, popularity is the precise measure of success.

In which case, The Eagles are the greatest band ever and their Greatest Hits is the greatest album ever.

One of my closest friends used to be in Mr Hudson & The Library, but they chucked him out for not taking it seriously enough.
