I'm not sure if this is true or not. I have one Aspie friend and he rarely swears. When I was still in High School almost all the NT teens would swear on a regular basis. I personally thought it was kind of annoying and inappropriate. In my opinion there is a time and place for using swear words. It irritates me when people feel the need swear in every sentence.

Maybe, as peoples tend to use big words more and sound like they are going on 25 when they are teens.

i agree there is a time and a place for swearing and the nt teens i know don't swear that much (most of them)

I see NT High School students walking down the street, just swearing away.

I think you're right. I never thought much about it, but now that you mention it, the Aspies I've seen (though few in number) don't swear nearly as much as the NTs I know, and personally I never swear when I'm just talking, it's only when a jerk cuts me off on the freeway or I bump my knee or something...

I swear occasionally but only when I'm alone. I would like to stop swearing entirely though.

I've always cursed a lot. It's especially satisfying when I'm overloaded and all I can manage to utter is "F***!"

I get a thrill from cuss words. The more shock value, the better.

When I was 5 years old one of my obsessions was the word 'F--k' in nearly all of it's permutations, without really knowing exactly what it meant.

I don't know any aspies in real life, so I can't compare them with NTs.

I hate to swear. I only do it when I am very angry or in serious physical pain. It strikes me as an especially crude form of the aesthetically offensive and imprecise language I loathe to hear.

The worst is when people allow the word "s---" or "crap" to stand in for the word "stuff" ("Your room is so cluttered; There's s--- all over the floor!"). I tend to take it literally and
. . . ewwwwwwww. What mental pictures! :eew:

Most curse words reference a sexual act or organ, and are therefore disgusting.

I swear less than most people I think. But that's because we swear so f*****g much in Scandinavia compared to what you do in the United States. :P

I curse for emphasis, when I'm frustrated, or simply because it seems to flow with a sentence I'm forming. If there's a problem with it, I'll do my best to contain myself, though. I don't believe I swear more than the average individual my age, but I'm not sure it's less, either. I'm not even close as bad as those people who just can't go a sentence without dropping a curse word, however.
