I love how the majority of us use single repeat, it makes me feel so much better. I played a song twice within the space of a few hours around someone else; they had some kind of bizarre fit and said they couldn't stand to hear the same song more than once. This guy was a music literature minor at university, so his comment was utterly beyond my ability to understand.

I don't have many songs with lyrics, but I've often listened to those that do for weeks on end (I love Nina Simone). I have no idea what they are saying--I'm just singing along with the phonemes. The type of synesthesia I have makes music such a visual experience, listening to the same song over and over again is like what I imagine watching time-lapse photography of a supernova on loop might be: completely euphoric, when it's right.

good googly moogly NO! A THOUSAND TIMES NO! (heck, TWICE can be too much...;)
Having to hear a song more than twice running gets on my last nerve. I start making fun of them, and doing 'alternate' lyrics, seguaying into other songs with the same chord structure, etc.

Sorry, just had to say that...;)

hmm, I usually just formulate my own music video in my head (usually it ties a personal experience I've had with the lyrics of the song... one of the reasons that I don't like most "pop" music, as it has crappy lyrics)

Not only do I like to repeat-1 a bunch of the time, I might even just loop-repeat a certain part of a song, even if the loop is just for 10 seconds. :) The former occurs more often, though.

Yeah, I loop-repeat fragments of a song. I do it more often than listening to the whole song over and over.

Wow! I'm surprised everyone here seems to do this but me. I thought I was weird for listening to the same batch of <30 songs every day in the same order, but man was I wrong!

I do this often when I get a new album.
I will listen to the whole album once first...then choose my favourite song and usually listen it so many times to the point where I never want to hear it again
Then...of course...a few months later, I like the song again! I have to wear my headphones when listening to music because my mother can't stand the sound of the same song repeating itself and she says it's irritating.

Strapples, I didn't ask for your input. THAT is not personal attacking.
