Too bad the ending doesn't compare with kotor... although if you were able to convince malak to kill himself that would be fairly epic... Kotor should have been its own movie trilogy... it's that good...

Mass Effect was designed as the first in a triology, and being the first in a new line of intellectual property it didn't seem to get as much 'polish' that I am sure the second one will come with. That and they were trying to keep it to one disk for the 360. You can see in the 'side missions' the rushed bits. They're all pretty much the same.

Having said that though, I've finished the game 4 times now...And loved it every time! 8O Bring on the sequel!

I finished thw game 4 times too but the dam game won't give me the Ally achievements even thought I use the same party through out the entire game. I think it might be bugged.

I think you can only get one per play through, and you literally have to do damn near *EVERY* side mission. I think it is tied to the 'Completionist' badge, as I got both at the same time. Ally was Wrex. I was also running with Williams, but I had swapped her out on that ONE mission for Tali, and even though I finished the rest of the game with Williams, she never tagged the Soldier ally badge. :/

I loved the game. I played as a male biotics specialist and found it a little too easy. The powers are really fun, especially the singularity.

"Say hello to my little black hole!"

:D

For the Ally achievements you have to complete almost every side quest and have used them in your party as early as possible. For the latter, this can be hard for Liara as you have to do a few missions before you can get her.

I had heaps of fun as a biotic but never used Singularity as I enjoyed using Lift and Throw so much I maxed them out. What does it do?

Whee. Just downloaded the DLC which was uploaded yesterday and blasted through it. It's very short, but intense. The Batarians are tough, and seem to like spamming tech skills like Overload a lot.

I just picked up the new Mass Effect book, Ascension:

Image

It takes place a few months after the events of the game, and expands on the group called "Cerberus". I turned over the book and was suprised to see that the book revolves around a 12 year old Autistic girl named Gillian Grayson. I began reading into the first few chapters of the book, and read the first chapter with her in it. Her symptoms are pretty noticable, it also said she has a type of high-functioning Autism. So far, the book is good. I guess it bridges the gap between Mass Effect, and the now-in-development Mass Effect 2.

Singularity creates a minature, stable black hole which sucks all your enemies around it. So they float in mid-air and are unable to attack. It looks really funny and affects multiple enemies at once.

I played as an infiltrator, so I never got the hang of the psychic abilities, but that's just as well considering how I've never really bothered with magic/force/psychic in any of the RPGs I've played. Just give me a long barrel weapon and wait for me in the ship.

So I suppose it's no surprise that I leaned towards the cute marine...she was considerably more useful than Liara was.

8O You never played using biotics? You have to replay the game, my playthrough as a biotic w/ assault rifle was the most fun out of the four playthroughs I've had of that game.

I think Joker and Kaiden both have interesting back stories. I think you have to play as a female to learn all of Kaiden's though...
