Oh, yeah - I did it all the time as a child!
Now, of course, I still do it - but, I've a certain wit and charm about me, so it comes off rather a bit entertaining.

Though at times I have wondered if I will turn into gollum, but I don't think that there anyvoices taking over my body. Its funny -JR we seem to have quite a few simularities, I was once told I was having a conversation with my brother at one time while he was also asleep, he is not dx'd with AS.

I find role-playing helps with that. Or makes it worse, I'm not sure which. I play a lot of D & D and have the apparently freakish capability of going from one character to another instantly. I really mean instantly. I will interrupt myself when gaming if I've got two characters and they're arguing.

I totally make a character. I get very involved in who they are. I create another whole person in my head. When you guys were talking about sort of filling a social void by talking to yourself, I thought of that. It's really pathetic. I think I just have more sophisticated imaginary friends.

Well I am makeing characters in my head for a novel that I am planning on writing, the one problem I am having is giving them there own personality, I have found it easier to have them mirror me or being fragments of my personality. I don't know I mostly talk to myself, it is mostly just different parts of my personality, like kid, dark, friendly, leader and mystic, that does not mean I am crazy I just find it easier to act like I am having a conversation with different mes. It alows me to look at all the extremes and have a broud view.

I mostly talk in my head but if I cant concentrate I talk out loud.
When I was like 14 n 15 I think I started talkin to people in public  when you find out that theyre not really there and people are looking at you like 8O
My friend same age use take the same drugs, with me but she never tripped out. I just think i must be in touch with the spirit world or something but she wasnt. People use to think I was doin it for attention but I really thought I was talking to a REAL person.

Sometimes I talk to myself when nobody can notice it, usually it happens when I'm very tired or depressed. When caught, I usually say: "It's so nice to talk to a clever person" :)

My usual reaction if asked who I'm talking to is "Oh, just myself" - I don't tend to talk full volume to myself anyway. The thing that is irritating/could land me in trouble is that I get annoyed with myself and sometimes call myself 'b***h!' or whatever out loud by mistake. I can usually control it around people but I'm just waiting for the day when I say it and someone thinks I mean them...

when i was little... i would take the straw off those little juice boxes (the straws are shaped like an "L" ) and hook the short end to my mouth and cup the other end to my ear so i could run around and talk to myself quietly about everything without other people hearing me.

Nobody is around to listen.
Except me, of course.
Sometimes I annoy even myself.

When people ask me who I'm talking to, I just say 'myself' and grin.
